Homily #080731 ( 09min) Play - The Lord came and establish His Kingdom forever. Unfortunately, many today reject and want to destroy Christ’s Kingdom. Let us strive to make acts of reparation for the blasphemies against Our Lord through prayer and sacrifice. Ave Maria! Mass readings +++

Ave Maria!– July’s Theme: Holiness
“What is the best way to give God the greatest possible glory and to guide the greatest number of souls to the highest degrees of sanctity? Without a doubt, God Himself…knows what we can do in order to give Him the greatest possible glory…But how does God reveal His will to us? By means of His representatives on earth. Obedience, therefore, and only by holy obedience do we know with certainty the will of God.” (cf. SK #25)

Ave Maria!
Thursday will be a great day for the Franciscans of the Immaculate and the Church in America because the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be didicated in a Mass which will be broadcast live on EWTN from 1-4pm, Thursday, July 31.
Look for friars in gray habits. Fr. Angelo Geiger, Fr. Peter Fehlner, Fra Joseph and Fr. Louis Maximilian will be there from America and Fr. Stefano Manelli, our founder, Fr. Giovanni Manelli, Sr. Celicia Manelli and Fra Angelo Lozzer will be there from Italy.
Fr. Peter, Fra Joseph and Fr. Louis Maximilian will form the initial staff of FIs at the shrine. On Sunday some of the FIs from Italy will give a special dedicatory recital, Fr. Giovanni (Violin), Sr. Celicia (organ and piano) and Fra Angelo (organ).
But don’t get confused. There will be other Franciscans in gray habits at the shrine like Fr. Benedict Groeschel of the CFRs and other famous people, including Raymond Arroyo, and of course, Archbishop Raymond Burke who founded the shrine. So tune into EWTN and be there yourself!

Ave Maria!– July’s Theme: Holiness
“Notwithstanding the fact that we are limited creatures and, therefore, incapable of rendering to God the glory that He merits, let us at least strive to contribute, as much as we can, to give Him the greatest glory possible. As you already know, the glory of God consists in the salvation of souls. Salvation, therefore, and the most perfect sanctification of the greatest number of souls that our Lord redeemed at a dear price with His death on the Cross, must be our sublime ideal of life. We do all of this in order to procure the greatest joy for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.” (cf. SK #25)

AVE MARIA MEDITATIONS

July 30th: St. Leopoldo Mandic
A Saint of the Confessional and a Saint for the Cause of Unity
The august Mother of God is in truth coredemptress of the human race and source of all grace. In fact on the one hand we have in her the most perfect obedience to God’s laws and, after her Son, the most perfect innocence: He impeccable by His nature, she impeccable by grace. On the other hand we see her as Our Lady of Sorrows, as He was the Man of Sorrows. If, therefore, by eternal decree of God, the Immaculate Virgin was the moral victim of sorrow as her Son was the physical victim, and if God’s avenging justice found no shadow of fault in them, it follows inevitably that they were paying the price of the sins of others, that is of mankind. Ave Maria!
The friars from down under in our Perth, Australian friary just sent this video of their trip to World Youth Day in Sidney (other side of Australia.) Sounds like they and the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims had the experience of a life time. Viva la Papa and God bless Australia!
I might add, this is a fine example of our Australian friar’s new video publishing apostolate and a great step forward in our effort to make AirMaria a worldwide apostolate. Top job mates!

Ave Maria!– July’s Theme: Holiness
“Let yourselves be led by the Immaculate, let Her form you with an ever greater freedom and you will become like Her, because She will make you ever more immaculate and She will nourish you with the milk of Her grace. Keep watch over the purity of your conscience, purify it in Her love. Don’t ever get discouraged, not even after a grave sin, even if committed more than once. An act of perfect love will purify you.” (cf. SK #1334)

Ave Maria!– July’s Theme: Holiness
“We religious have entered the Order with the one goal of becoming saints. If sanctification is the work of grace, if the Most Holy Mother is the Mediatrix of all graces, if Her privilege of the Immaculate Conception is the ‘Franciscan Thesis’, or rather Her very name is ‘Immaculate Conception’,…, then we probably have no need to seek elsewhere. All we have to do is get working on our own conversion and sanctification and that of others under the protection and through the mediation of the Immaculate.” (cf. SK #1238)

Homily #080727 ( 10min) Play - Fr. Bonaventure preaches on this 3rd Order Sunday where Fr. Stefano Manelli, our founder, is the celebrant. Fr. Bonaventure points out that the parables of the Buried Treasure and the Pearl of Great Price tell us that all things are to be counted as loss compared to the treasure of the Gospel. This treasuring of the Gospel is key to being a true disciple of Christ, and so, Mary is the greatest disciple who pondered the Gospel in her Immaculate Heart.
