There is a price to pay for every word that Our Lord has given us, and Fr. Bonaventure never shrinks from explaining that price. Today's Gospel leads us to ask the question, "How are we to enter into the peace of Christ??? and Fr. Bonaventure answers by stating that peace actually comes from conflict, from doing battle against "the Spirit of the Age??, i.e. Satan. Evidence of the ascendency of Satan is seen in the leaders of our own society, who insist that the acceptance of certain perversions, certain sins against nature, are the basis of human sanity. The camp of Christ is always warring with the camp of Satan, and we will overcome Satan when we lean on our greatest weapons: prayer, penance, the Holy Eucharist, and the intercession of the Mother of All Graces.
Fr. Bonaventure also speaks on the many misuderstandings regarding the coming of the Antichrist, the second coming of Christ, and the end of the world as we know it.
